DataSource Mobility to Sell New Panasonic Toughbook H1 Mobile Clinical Assistant
Toughbook H1 Sets New Standard for Mobile Computing Solutions in Healthcare Market
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DataSource Mobility is proud to announce its upcoming distribution of the ground-breaking Panasonic Toughbook® H1, a mobile solution for Point-of-Care applications in the healthcare industry. As a Panasonic Toughbook Premier Partner, DataSource Mobility is one of a select group of VARs chosen to sell the full line of Toughbook mobile computing devices, including the new Toughbook H1. DataSource Mobility will deliver the innovative new Toughbook H1 to the healthcare industry along with Toughbook Tested™ services and related product lines that create a complete solution for healthcare professionals.
Panasonic worked very closely with Intel’s Digital Health Group to lead the design of the Toughbook H1 mobile clinical assistant (MCA) solution. Their product redefines performance and functionality in the MCA market and includes:
- Ultra-Rugged Mobile Design
- Up to six hour battery life
- Hot–swappable twin batteries
- Daylight viewable screen
- Standard 3 year warranty
- Integrated 3G Gobi™ global mobile internet technology
- Intel® Atom™ processor
- Integrated contactless SmartCard reader
- Integrated fingerprint reader
- Fully-sealed, fanless design
- 2MP Camera with autofocus and dual LED light
- RFID and optional 2D barcode readers
The Toughbook H1 was designed specifically for the healthcare industry to provide a rugged, mobile solution for EHR (Electronic Health Records), CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry), eMAR (Electronic Medication Administration Record), clinical documentation, vitals capture, scheduling/planning, and mobile patient consultations.
“While first generation MCA devices have fallen short of market expectations, the Panasonic Toughbook H1 appears to deliver on all counts; creating a best in class mobile computing solution for healthcare,” said Bill Presler, managing partner at DataSource Mobility. “We strive to provide our customers with solutions that deliver the best outcomes with a strong return on investment, and we are exceedingly impressed with this device and its potential for our customers. After carefully reviewing mobile devices for the healthcare market, we are confident that the Toughbook H1 is an ideal solution for the healthcare industry.”
Sealed for Safety. With no fan, a gapless LCD screen and sealed ports, the ultra-mobile-rugged Toughbook H1 is completely sealed and easily sanitized. This enables the unit to be used in all patient care environments, reducing the risk of germs being spread from patient to patient.
Designed for a 24/7 Environment. An industry leading up to 6 hour battery life sets a new standard for performance for a MCA and twin hot-swappable batteries allow a caregiver to change batteries one at a time with zero down time—the Toughbook H1 never has to go into hibernation, standby or be powered off. Also the batteries are small enough that they easily fit in a lab coat pocket, making up to a 12 hour shift easily attainable.
Connected. Integrated 3G mobile broadband (WWAN) is an optional feature for this device, and Gobi™ global mobile internet technology allows a customer to pick between the major cellular network carriers for their wireless high-speed data connection. This can be a real benefit to home health organizations that need to send patient care information in real time. Of course facilities can easily connect over Bluetooth or WLAN (Wi-Fi) which are standard on the Panasonic Toughbook H1.
Feature Rich for Healthcare. The Toughbook H1 includes a host of additional features such as integrated RFID, contactless SmartCard, fingerprint and optional barcode readers, as well as camera and optional GPS.
Said Presler, “We firmly believe that the Panasonic Toughbook H1 will change the way the healthcare industry thinks about mobile computing. Instead of trying to adapt work flow to fit a device, the Toughbook H1 was built to fit the work flow of healthcare. And this is a Toughbook. Panasonic knows how to make a unit that will survive the harsh realities of point of care computing.”
Starting in December 2008 DataSource Mobility will be hosting a series of monthly online educational seminars illustrating how the Panasonic Toughbook H1 is designed to improve healthcare work flow, with a focus on helping caregivers provide a higher quality of care more efficiently. If you are interested in more information on the seminars, you can email support@datasourcemobility.com, or visit www.DataSourceMobility.com after Nov 15 for full details and registration information.
