KEENE, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Centralized Code and Data Management (CCDM) is a new, scalable product and customer support platform being offered by Markem-Imaje. It bundles all necessary hardware, software and services required by manufacturers to gain better control over code formats, templates and ingredient lists to eliminate costly coding errors.

This scalable solution can be integrated at specific packaging points (units, trays, cases, pallets, etc.), can encompass complete production lines, or can even be utilized to control all your coders and printers across multiple production lines for an enterprise-wide solution.

CCDM complies with all GS1 (UCC-EAN) labeling standards for linear and 2D barcodes, text, and logo graphics. It provides centralized monitoring and real-time status of networked coders and printers to identify items running, number of prints, machine status and more. The solution set can also connect to third-party product handling devices like PLCs, barcode scanners and scales through Markem-Imaje CoLOS® software in order to optimize applicability to each customer’s packaging operation. With a centralized database, all data can be maintained and production information can be integrated with ERP, MES or WMS systems.

Having Centralized Code and Data Management benefits users at all levels of the coding cycle—particularly at the enterprise, plant and line levels. At the enterprise level, having a CCDM platform allows unified data and templates to be controlled centrally and distributed out to various remote sites as needed. At the plant level, unified data and templates under CCDM are controlled centrally and distributed to the packaging lines. And finally at the packaging line-level, the platform allows unified data and templates to be sent to all coding devices—allowing interaction with devices at the line (PLCs, scales, scanners and printers).
