SpecEx Spectrum Marketplace Enhances Transaction Efficiency with Point & Click Online Trading Capabilities
New Features and Increased Licensed Wireless Spectrum Listings on the Site Solidify its Place as the Online Marketplace for Spectrum
LAKE MARY, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spectrum Bridge Inc. confirmed today that SpecEx, the online marketplace for spectrum, now fully supports Web-based electronic trading. The new features were introduced to existing SpecEx members on October 30th and are now available to new members when they join. All SpecEx members can now find, buy and lease spectrum in a secure and trusted Web-based environment.
New capabilities make it easy for spectrum seekers to find and make offers for spectrum licenses online, while spectrum holders can view, accept, reject or counter these offers using their Web browser. Spectrum holders can also indicate asking or minimum prices for each spectrum listing on the site. These and other enhancements to SpecEx accelerate and simplify all aspects of spectrum discovery, as well as the entire purchasing and leasing process for both buyers and sellers.
“By using powerful Internet-enabled technology, Spectrum Bridge brings the secondary market for spectrum into the age of e-Commerce,” said Peter Stanforth, CTO of Spectrum Bridge Inc. “Time is money, so the more efficient and transparent we can make the entire spectrum transaction process, the lower the costs and hassle for our customers.”
In addition to these new capabilities, six additional companies with spectrum holdings have joined SpecEx, adding their licenses to its searchable online database. The new listings increase the number of licenses for sale or lease on SpecEx from 693 to 902. These licenses also add several new categories of spectrum that are ideal for WiMax and next generation (4G) cellular data services. The growing list of spectrum licenses and coverage areas available provide a unique opportunity for SpecEx members to assemble and aggregate disparate licenses into more valuable holdings.
“Spectrum Bridge is delivering a powerful value proposition for spectrum holders with its SpecEx marketplace,” said Thomas Kurian, CEO of American Wireless, Inc. “The site’s new online transaction capabilities make it easier for me to put my spectrum listing in front of interested qualified buyers, while making it easier for them to buy it. The ability to sell our excess 700 MHz, SMR and AMTS spectrum using a single online marketing and trading platform simplifies our business by letting us focus on our core network operations.”
Since its launch in early September, over 80 companies, agencies and institutions have joined SpecEx and can now take advantage of the marketplace and online tools. To learn more and apply for a SpecEx membership, please visit specex.com.
