CWAV’s New BusBee™ is Fluent in Many Protocols

TEMECULA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CWAV, Inc., a Southern California-based electronics company, announced today the release of its BusBee Serial Bus Monitor. The BusBee is CWAV’s newest product and joins its line of award-winning compact and affordable electronic test tools. “The BusBee is a portable and easy to use multi-protocol device that listens to the embedded bus traffic within your hardware design,” says Tim Harvey, President of CWAV, Inc. “Being USB-based, the BusBee combines many of today’s most commonly used communications protocols into one inexpensive unit.”

Utilizing a high speed USB bus, the BusBee streams decoded data to your personal computer and stores the monitored bus transactions to disk in real time. Users are able to execute long test sequences, observe embedded system data flows during normal operations, and capture all bus traffic details. Data transactions are written and displayed in comma delimited text format that is easily imported into spreadsheet or other processing programs for review and data analysis.

The BusBee currently supports I2C, SPI, ASYNC, CAN, USB, Sync Serial, 1-Wire, I2S, and SMBus busses, with other busses under development. “Users can run extended length captures of their traffic, limited only by the size of their hard disk,” Harvey adds. Software for the BusBee is available at www.usbee.com and runs in demonstration mode without a BusBee attached. Units are priced at $295.00 and come standard with all necessary cables, clips, leads, software, and accessories.
