Santa Clara University: Net Neutrality / Telecommunications Law Event Friday, Oct. 17
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The FCCs 1968 Carterfone decision — celebrating its 40th anniversary this year — is frequently cited as a key legal precedent for Net Neutrality and open access. But there is disagreement about how and whether its provisions should apply to Internet access providers and emerging communications technologies.
On Friday, Oct. 17, Santa Clara University’s High Tech Law Institute and the BroadBand Institute of California will host a symposium to gather leading telecommunications policy experts to explore the opinion's ongoing implications for telecommunications policy — such as whether providers like AT&T can strike exclusive deals with equipment makers like iPhone.
