RHR International and Chief Executive Magazine Bring Together Top CEOs to Discuss Factors That Influence Women Leaders
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It is common knowledge that business needs more women in senior management. What appears to be missing is a structured process for achieving that goal. What can CEOs do to move more women executives into leadership positions? In partnership with RHR International, a world leader in executive and organizational development, Chief Executive magazine is hosting a luncheon roundtable entitled “We Need More Women Leaders, Now What? (What’s working, What isn’t; How you can do better).”
The event will be held on October 15, 2008 at the Harvard Club of New York City. Highlights will be published in both Chief Executive magazine and on chiefexecutive.net. Leading the discussion will be Marilyn Carlson Nelson, chairman of Carlson Companies, Inc. Representing RHR International at the roundtable will be Dr. Thomas Saporito, president of the firm, and Dr. Reshmi Paul, a consultant for the New York office.
“As strategy execution in difficult times has become a top priority, CEOs need to attract and retain all available talent, not least their women executives, who can be critical assets,” said J.P. Donlon, editor-in-chief for Chief Executive magazine. “A tightening leadership supply in an increasingly complex global market demands it.”
A select team of chief executives including Thomas Quinlan, CEO of RR Donnelly & Sons; Clarice Kennedy, CEO of CCN, Inc.; Ed Coleman, former CEO of Gateway Computers; Paulett Eberhart, president & CEO of Invensys Process Systems (IPS); and retired Navy Rear Admiral Marty Evans will address those CEO behaviors that positively and negatively impact the environment in their enterprise to fully leverage their women executives.
“This roundtable will seek a new, systemic framework that CEOs can use to identify company and individual factors that influence executive women leadership,” said Jeff Durocher, vice president of market development for RHR International. “It is based on recent research by RHR International that drew on actual experiences of 65 senior women across industries, not superficial facts taken at face value.”
This is the second of a series of CEO roundtables to be sponsored by RHR International over a two year period. Chief Executive hosts four to six discussions annually that provide a platform for chief executive officers to come together for a dialogue on a wide range of key topics from global economic issues to internal operational best practices. The luncheon is by invitation only. For more information write to bsagges@chiefexecutive.net or call 201-930-5951.
