Rockefeller Foundation President Discusses Solutions to Interconnected Challenges of Global Poverty and the Climate Crisis

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--During todays Clinton Global Initiative program, Rockefeller Foundation President Judith Rodin will headline a Special Session panel discussion that explores solutions to the devastating impact of climate change on the worlds poor.

In 2007, the Rockefeller Foundation launched a $70 million initiative to help poor communities prepare for and recover from the global climate crisis impacts. Today, the Foundation also supports work to strengthen food security against the risks of climate change, lay the groundwork for innovative, new carbon sequestration strategies, and promote major investments in Americas transportation infrastructure to put underserved communities on the path to prosperity while driving down carbon emissions. All told, the Rockefeller Foundation has committed about $100 million to address the interconnected challenges of expanding economic opportunity while mitigating and adapting to global climate change.
