Alstom Share Split
LEVALLOIS PERRET, France--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Regulatory News:
The two for one split of the nominal value of Alstom (Paris:ALO) shares, which was approved by the shareholders' Annual General Meeting held on 24 June 2008, will be effective at the opening of the Euronext Paris stock exchange on 7 July 2008. The nominal value of the Alstom share will be divided by two (to 7 euros) and therefore the number of outstanding shares will be multiplied by two (to 284,327,532 shares). This operation will be free from any charges or formalities for Alstom's shareholders.
This split will make the acquisition of Alstom shares easier for individual shareholders. The share price has increased strongly over the last three years and is now one of the highest on the Paris stock market’s CAC 40 index. The split should also improve the liquidity in the trading of the shares.
