World Series of Golf Hires The Investor Relations Group
Active Investor and Media Outreach to Further Build Company Awareness
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--World Series of Golf, Inc. (OTCBB: WSGF), a competitive tournament, entertainment, and online enterprise company that owns the rights to “The World Series of Golf®,” a patent-pending method of play that provides players an event that combines the wagering format of Texas Hold ‘Em with the skill of golf, has retained the Investor Relations Group (IRG), a highly recognized corporate communications firm based in New York City, to serve as its national investor relations and public relations firm.
The Investor Relations Group’s team will use proprietary competitive analysis strategies and extensive databases to target the broad scope of the investment community, including portfolio managers and analysts. IRG’s program will include pre-qualified one-on-one introductions, e-mail to investment professionals that have opted-in for communication, and general traditional outreach. Simultaneously, the thirteen-year-old investor relations firm’s award-winning public relations department will initiate an outreach campaign to the media-at-large, namely editors, writers, and producers of local and national trade and consumer online, print, radio, and broadcast media outlets. Together the team’s mandate will be to educate and communicate both the investment community and public on World Series of Golf’s corporate strategy, key initiatives for growth, and ongoing company developments.
“This is an especially exciting time for World Series of Golf, particularly given the recent CBS broadcast of our second annual tournament,” said Terry Leiweke, president of World Series of Golf and NCAA football record holder. “We are delighted to begin working with IRG’s team of corporate communications professionals. IRG has the expertise and industry relationships necessary to help us raise our game and elevate our profile with both the investment community and the general public.”
The World Series of Golf combines the wagering format of Texas Hold ‘Em with the skill of golf in a patent-pending format that allows for high-stakes to ride on each golf hole. Players ante up on each tee, then can bet, raise, call, check, or fold on each subsequent shot. Rather than shooting the lowest golf course score, the object of the game is to claim the pot on each hole, eventually eliminating your opponents by winning all of their chips. With a $10,000 buy-in, the event attracted amateur golfers from across the United States and Canada. Participants represented all walks of life ranging from private equity investors and Las Vegas high rollers to electricians and construction contractors.
The World Series of Golf has engaged in a multi-year domestic U.S. broadcast partnership with network television’s sports leader, CBS Sports.
