Joe Meholic Joins The Main Street America Group as Richmond Region President

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Main Street America Group announced today Joe Meholic has joined the super regional property–casualty insurance carrier as president of its Richmond Region.

Meholic, who has extensive background leading property-casualty operations in the mid-Atlantic marketplace, will report to Doug Eden, Main Street America’s senior vice president, field operations, and work out of the company’s Richmond, Va., office.

In his new role as regional president, Meholic will be accountable for the direction, management and performance of Main Street America’s Richmond Region, which encompasses six states: Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

“Joe will focus on profitable premium growth as we strive to increase our market share, as well as enhancing our strong relationships with our customers throughout this region,” Eden said.

Meholic joins Main Street America from Zurich North America, where he has spent the last 29 years in a variety of management roles. Most recently, he was regional vice president of Zurich’s Southeast Region, a seven-state territory, and based in Baltimore, Md. In this role, Meholic delivered impressive sales results, growing the region’s written premium from $210 million to $440 million over a five-year period. He achieved profitability through market segment management and produced an accident year loss ratio consistently under 60 percent.

Prior to being appointed regional vice president in 1999, Meholic’s roles at Zurich included field vice president, regional staff officer, assistant branch manager and regional marketing manager.

Meholic earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pa. He also completed the Kellogg School Management Development Program at Northwestern University, Chicago, Ill. Meholic holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designation.
