SAN FRANCISCO--()--OPSWAT, Inc., the leading provider of endpoint security integration technologies, today announced that AVG Technologies, a leading international developer of Internet threat protection solutions for consumers, SMBs and small enterprises, has completed the OESISOK certification program. This certification provides AVG prospects and customers with independent verification that AVG products operate seamlessly within a network’s existing connectivity framework.
“By using products from an OESISOK certified vendor, AVG customers are guaranteed the security solutions they are using are best-of-breed and interoperable with other market-leading security applications.”
The OESISOK certification program comprises five stages of comprehensive verification testing in order to ensure interoperability as well as functionality. Once the testing process is completed, the application is scored and given OESISOK certification, confirming its interoperability status. That score is then posted and made publicly available at www.OESISOK.com.
“This certification provides our users with the assurance that AVG Internet security solutions are cutting-edge, robust, and meet the highest standards of interoperability,” said Karel Obluk, chief technology officer at AVG Technologies. “We welcome the addition of OESISOK certification to our wide range of independent third-party validations.”
AVG undertook and completed certification through its headline product, AVG Internet Security 8.0. AVG Internet Security 8.0 is a suite of security applications, available in standalone and network implementations, that delivers the full gamut of online threat protection capabilities in a lightweight, easy-to-use package:
- LinkScanner® safe-surfing and safe-searching technology protects against drive-by downloads and other web-borne threats
- Web Shield protects against infected file downloads over the web or through instant messaging
- Combined anti-virus/anti-spyware engine protects against viruses, worms, trojans, and ID theft attacks
- Anti-rootkit technology protects against stealthy, deeply embedded threats
- Firewall protects against hacker attacks
- Anti-spam filters out unwanted e-mails and phishing attacks
“We are pleased that market-leading vendors like AVG are acknowledging the importance of interoperability and completing the OESISOK certification testing,” said Benny Czarny, president and CEO of OPSWAT, Inc. “By using products from an OESISOK certified vendor, AVG customers are guaranteed the security solutions they are using are best-of-breed and interoperable with other market-leading security applications.”
The OESISOK certification program extends the value of OPSWAT OESIS®, an open framework for developing products that detect, assess, manage and remediate features of a wide range of endpoint security applications running on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems.
The OESISOK Interoperability Certification Program provides endpoint security application vendors with increased branding and higher levels of security for their customers. Endpoint security vendors interested in OESISOK membership should visit http://www.opswat.com/oesisok.shtml.
