Safend Automates Product Interoperability & Quality Assurance Testing Process
Endpoint DLP Leader Ensures Compatibility with Customers’ Hardware, Software and Operating Systems
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Safend, a leading provider of enterprise endpoint Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) solutions , announced today the automation of its interoperability and quality assurance (QA) testing process. By testing Safend Protector and Safend Auditor solutions with mission-critical hardware, software and operating system technologies found in customer environments, Safend facilitates a seamless deployment of its products in customers’ existing IT infrastructure.
“In today’s enterprise, ensuring interoperability in complex IT environments is a necessity. Safend has taken a major step to not only anticipate the operating systems present in a typical client and server environment but to also account for other security software and business applications they might be using with our products,” said Hay Hazama, Safend’s vice president of research and development. “Simulating all of the possible compatibility scenarios individually is nearly impossible so we have developed a method to automate the process that would otherwise take endless hours to manually execute. In doing so, we provide our customers with the extra level of quality assurance that results in faster deployment and the seamless integration of our products.”
In an automated environment, Safend’s products are tested against 32 different Microsoft operating systems, more than 120 different software applications and 196 different drivers. The extensive list of software applications with which Safend tests compatibility includes all major Microsoft Applications, Development Applications, Web Browsers, Instant Messaging Applications, Multimedia Applications, Virtual PC Applications, Security Applications, Disk Encryption Applications, CD Burning Applications, Backup Applications and USB Drivers. Safend’s automated process results in a testing time of about one hour for each compatibility scenario versus up to several hours of testing in a manual environment. Safend’s automated process also includes testing the products in a stressed environment, which is important to ensure full functionality, security and a trouble-free product in extreme situations.
“Even though Safend offers the most robust and easy-to-deploy endpoint DLP solutions in the market today, it means nothing if they do not integrate and assimilate with customers’ existing technology,” stated Safend CEO Gil Sever. “Our automated interoperability and quality assurance processes are key differentiators for Safend that enable our customers and partners to be rest assured that our products will ease their data security headaches instead of adding to them.”
