Carmike Cinemas Theatres Presents U2 Concert Movie in 3-D Opening on Friday, February 15, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (NASDAQ: CKEC) announced today that starting on Friday, February 15, 2008 a special movie concert performance by the inspirational rock group U2 will be presented on the big screen in 3D format at their local Carmike theatres.

This spectacular event directed by U2’s visual content director, Catharine Owens and director of the groups “ONE” video, Mark Pellington was recorded during U2’s Vertigo World Tour. The big screen 3D movie will feature popular songs from U2’s earlier albums, along with songs from their current generation of hits. “Beautiful Day”, “New Year’s Day,” “With or Without You,” “One,” “Love and Pease or Else”, along with many more of U2’s most popular songs will provide an innovative concert experience for all to enjoy.
