Atlassian Partners with EditGrid to Expand Features of Hosted Wiki
Popular online spreadsheet, EditGrid, develops plugin for Confluence Hosted and Confluence Enterprise Hosting
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EditGrid, the popular online spreadsheet, is now available to customers that use the hosted versions of Confluence, the enterprise wiki from Atlassian.
The EditGrid Plugin for Confluence allows for real-time collaboration of spreadsheets within Confluence Hosted or Confluence Enterprise Hosting. With EditGrid, users can create or insert spreadsheets into Confluence pages. They can also edit the spreadsheet collaboratively. The resulting spreadsheet is saved as an attachment within the Confluence pages in Microsoft Excel format, allowing Confluence to manage the revision history.
"Many-a jaw dropped when we saw the elegant plugin that EditGrid had created for Confluence. Hosted customers will be able to create a spreadsheet as easily as they can create any other wiki page. With EditGrid, they will get the best spreadsheet features in the business -- and it's totally free," notes Mike Cannon-Brookes, co-founder and CEO of Atlassian.
Some of the features of the EditGrid plugin include:
- Real-time updates: allows multiple users to see dynamic changes to a spreadsheet.
- Industry leading features: more than 500 functions, the greatest of any online spreadsheet.
- Remote data update: retrieves live financial data on the Web and stores it in a spreadsheet
- Import and export: accepts common file formats such as Microsoft Excel, CSV, HTML, Gnumeric, Lotus, OpenOffice and assigns fine-grained access control.
- Live Chat: enables multiple users to discuss changes from within EditGrid, no need to switch to another chat application.
"We are pleased to be working with Atlassian to provide its customers with the most robust online spreadsheet available," said David Lee, Chairman of Team and Concepts, developer of EditGrid. "This is a perfect partnership as EditGrid and Confluence are highly complementary products."
Over 50,000 individual and enterprise users from 50 different countries use EditGrid, making it the world's second most popular online spreadsheet after Google Spreadsheets.
