Farmers Insurance Honors California Indian Tribes’ Fire Departments December 29th

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Farmers Group Inc. will honor the Fire Departments of eight California Native-American Tribes at a special ceremony to be held Saturday, December 29 at 9:00 a.m. The recognition ceremony will be held at the building site of this year’s Farmers Rose Parade float located at Rose Palace, 835 S. Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105.

“We are pleased to recognize the eight Fire Departments of the Southern California Reservation Fire Authority (SCRFA) for their tireless year-round efforts in fire prevention and firefighting,” noted Paul Hopkins, CEO of Farmers Group, Inc. “In addition to fire duties on each of their tribal lands, they responded to the recent Southern California fires under the California Mutual Aid System. The Farmers float features a 60 foot tall Native-American Chief, holding a peace pipe under his right arm, and wooden feathered cane in his left. He is crafted entirely from flowers, vegetables and other natural material.
