Rejuvenating a Classic Duo With The JBL® Duet II and III Speaker Systems

Big on Sound and Small on Space, These 2.0 Speakers Fit Any Room

WOODBURY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bringing a space-saving solution to student dorms, telecommuter work spaces and small living quarters, JBL, Inc., today introduced the latest additions to its line of high-performance 2.0 speakers, delivering clear and powerful sound with a small footprint. The JBL Duet II and JBL Duet III speaker systems are compatible with all personal computers, portable MP3 devices and devices that use a 3.5mm audio jack.

Whether for a computer, laptop or MP3 player, for occasional browsing of video clips, or to serve as a home entertainment center, the JBL Duet II and III desktop speaker systems are an ideal solution for work or for play. Both systems incorporate onboard digital amplifier technology designed to deliver high output with minimal distortion. The systems feature Computer Optimized Equalization (COE), which optimizes stereo imaging and system response off-axis.

Volume and power controls are conveniently located at the very top of the unit. Proprietary Phoenix transducer technology ensures that each JBL Duet II speaker – despite its small footprint of just 4 inches in diameter (with a height of 10 inches) – delivers great bass, a crystal-clear midrange and smooth highs. The slightly larger JBL Duet III system – 4-5/8 inches by 12 inches – uses proprietary Warrior transducer technology to ensure that the system delivers deep bass, a high-performance midrange and stunning highs.

“Simple yet extremely functional – this is the trend we’ve observed in consumer tastes lately. Speaker systems no longer have to be just six-sided boxes on your desk anymore,” said Christopher M. Dragon, director of brand marketing for the Harman Consumer Mobile, Portable and Companion Products division. “JBL’s world-class audio heritage brings consumers a world-class listening experience.”

Pricing and Availability

Available in gray with silver accents, the JBL Duet II and JBL Duet III desktop speaker systems are compatible with Mac® computers, PCs and portable music players. Both will be available in Jan. 2009 and will be available at premium retailers for a suggested retail price of $99.95 and $149.95.
