ZyXEL Debuts Industry’s First “All in One” Multi-Service Gateway for Cable MSO Commercial Services

As a true “all in one” business service gateway, the ZyXEL P2900 is the only product of its kind in the market that supports three services including high speed Internet, business class phone and Ethernet over DOCSIS in a single integrated device.

No More Multiple Boxes

Currently, MSOs typically use three boxes to deliver three different services, including deploying a cable router for commercial static IP high-speed Internet, an eMTA for commercial phone service, and a stand alone L2TP v3 router for Ethernet over DOCSIS service. ZyXEL has simplified this with its P2900 multi-service gateway products which support three services in one box.

L2TP v3 Capable

ZyXEL’s P2900 series products support “point to point” and “point to multi-points” L2TP v3 VPN scenarios for remote branch offices, telecommuters and SOHO users. The P2900’s L2TP v3 allows cable MSOs to deploy T1-like lease line services to the small to mid-size market with higher speeds and lower prices. The P2900 allows cable MSOs to quickly deploy these services on existing networks giving them a clear advantage in addressing the SMB market for high speed network connectivity.

Ease of Remote Management

ZyXEL’s P2900 series products support SNMP v1v2v3, CLI Interface, and Web GUI. A customizable Web GUI provides two-tier password log-in protections. The powerful network management functionality simplifies large-scale network deployment and allows greater profitability to cable operators/MSOs.

Flexible Operation Mode
