Organic Alliance Recruits Food Industry Marketing Veteran as President
Parker Booth Has More Than 30 Years of Senior Marketing Management Experience in Fresh Foods and International Transportation
SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Organic Alliance, Inc. (Pink Sheets: ORGC), announced today that Parker Booth has assumed the role of President.
Booth has over 30 years of sales and operation experience in the fresh foods and international transportation industries. He brings extensive knowledge to the Organic Alliance team. Most recently, Booth was president of Ace Tomato and Delta PrePack, 2 companies that farm, ship, repack and market fresh fruits and vegetables. Prior to running Ace Tomato and Delta PrePack, he spent 14 years at Fresh Express, most recently as Vice President Food Service Division. In this position he was responsible for overseeing and directing the company’s foodservice business, which included managing the sales division’s growth and formulating long-range strategic sales plans. During this time Booth led the $300mm food service division’s growth through several new product launches for national restaurant chains and broadline distributor markets that resulted in a 30% revenue growth.
Parker has extensive international business and sales experience as a result of his work in Asia, Europe and South America where he was responsible for developing and expanding markets for the use of controlled atmosphere technology. This technology is used in the shipping industry today for the worldwide, long-distance, ocean transport of perishable commodities such as fresh fruits and vegetables.
“We are pleased to have Parker as the President of our growing company,” said Tom Morrison, CEO of Organic Alliance. “His past marketing and sales experience will assist us with our growth, and help us to market to more growers, food processors, consumer goods firms, grocery chains and restaurants worldwide. Parker will lead our team which now includes our Medical Advisory Board consisting of six outstanding doctors, and the recent addition of Royal Chef Steve Crellin, who served the British Royal family for many years.”
“I am very excited to join Organic Alliance,” said Booth. “The company is working hard to ensure that everything is done to the highest level before they even begin to market to consumers. They have become the only organic company to offer GS1 tracking of its produce and meats and have taken control of a well established organic brand which will generate funds quickly. I am pleased to be part of such a pro-active, high-quality company such as Organic Alliance.”
