ABN AMRO Asset Management Canada Limited embraces their official name change as they continue their integration with Fortis Investments

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ABN AMRO Asset Management Canada Limited is pleased to announce their official name change to Fortis Investment Management Canada Ltd., effective August 29, 2008.

Through the successful acquisition of ABN AMRO Asset Management in April 2008, Fortis Investments has expanded its global presence to encompass 40 locations on 5 continents, and has brought together the best of both worlds for their clients. All investment teams of both pre-merger companies were put through a stringent selection process to ensure the strongest investment teams are in place.

For the ABN AMRO Asset Management Canadian team, the merger with Fortis Investments is a welcome leap forward which enables them to offer clients a greater range of capabilities and global expertise.

Christine Girvan will remain Chief Executive Officer for the Canadian operation, and has also been appointed Head of Sales for North America. Christine continues to be responsible for business development, client servicing and overall business strategy for Canada and will now oversee business development and client servicing for the US. She has over 18 years experience in the portfolio management field, which includes being an Officer with a large Canadian investment counsellor, and the role of Portfolio Manager for a large financial institution in France.
