FOX News Channel Names Gretchen Carlson FOX & Friends Co-Host

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2006--FOX News Channel (FNC) today named Gretchen Carlson anchor and co-host of the network's signature morning program FOX & Friends (7-9AM/EST), announced Bill Shine, Senior Vice President of Programming. Carlson joins co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade beginning Monday, September 25th.

Prior to joining FNC in June 2005, Carlson worked at CBS News where she served as a correspondent and co-anchored the CBS Saturday Early Show. Before her tenure at CBS, Carlson served as an anchor/reporter for KXAS-TV (NBC) in Dallas, WOIO-TV (NBC) in Cleveland and WCPO-TV (ABC) in Cincinnati. She began her television career in Richmond, Va., as a political reporter for WRIC-TV (ABC). In 1989, before starting her television career, she was the first classical violinist to be crowned Miss America.
