The new lightweight and flexible keyboard designed for portable computing and communications devices uses Bluetooth(R) connectivity, is 100% fabric, water-repellent, super durable, and comes with a mobile phone/PDA stand. Weighing 2.4oz, the standard ElekTex keyboard design is the most portable keyboard on the market and it can be rolled up when not in use to fit easily in a pocket or handbag.
“We've designed this product with the business person on the go in mind so it's the perfect companion product for the highly mobile worker who wants to use a lightweight computer like a PDA or Smart phone to stay in contact with their office and their customers”
"We've designed this product with the business person on the go in mind so it's the perfect companion product for the highly mobile worker who wants to use a lightweight computer like a PDA or Smart phone to stay in contact with their office and their customers," said Product Manager Andrew Newman. "Where existing key pads on many Smart phones and PDAs make typing anything longer than a short message impractical and uncomfortable, we've designed the laptop-sized ElekTex fabric keyboard to allow consumers to easily and more comfortably type longer documents on their phones and handheld devices - making these new portable devices more usable."
The keyboard is available now for distributors and retailers in the U.S. to be sold through their Smart phone peripherals and accessories businesses. It can be customized to meet the branding requirements of the smallest and largest distributors, retailers and wireless network carriers. It can also be styled to fit the corporate identity of large enterprise users who find that the ElekTex keyboard fits their strategy of creating a more fully functional, mobile workforce.
The keyboard's standard design includes a charcoal gray fabric keyboard and the electronics plastic housing has an embedded LED to show keyboard status and Bluetooth connectivity status.
Newman continues, "The ElekTex Smart Fabric wireless keyboard truly displays the benefits of Eleksen's core technology for consumer product design. Our product is the most lightweight, flexible, portable, and exceptionally durable keyboard on the market. Working with smart fabric interfaces offers product developers a compelling and highly differentiated product, perfect for the highly competitive computer peripherals and accessories sectors. In addition, we offer the underlying electronics and sensor design to OEMs and ODMs for use in their own keyboard product developments."
The Eleksen smart keyboard sensor, electronics and Bluetooth interface is available for entities interested in designing or manufacturing their own, branded smart fabric keyboard interfaces for the growing market of highly portable and mobile computing devices. This reference design can be scaled to support different keypad sizes and covering materials. For more information about Eleksen offerings, please visit www.eleksen.com.
