Aberdare Ventures Promotes Y. Vincent Kim and Naheed Ismaili Misfeldt to Partner

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aberdare Ventures, a healthcare technology venture capital firm, today announced that Y. Vincent Kim and Naheed Ismaili Misfeldt, formerly principals, have been promoted to partners of the firm. They join Managing Partner Paul Klingenstein, and Partners Sami Hamadé, Dan Kisner, and Jake Odden.

Mr. Kim, 34, joined Aberdare in 2002 and specializes in therapeutic medical device companies. He currently serves as a director of Ample Medical. He is responsible for the firms investments in Ablation Frontiers and VertiFlex, and led the evaluations of EnteroMedics and Posit Science. Prior to joining Aberdare, he was an Associate at Acacia Venture Partners, where he participated in venture capital investments in healthcare services and information technology companies. Previously, Mr. Kim worked at APM, a healthcare-focused strategy and operations consulting firm.

Ms. Misfeldt, 34, a principal at Aberdare since 2003, specializes in biopharmaceutical product companies. She is currently a director of Visionary Therapeutics. She has played a central role in many Aberdare investments, including Conatus Pharmaceuticals, BioVerdant, Avera Pharmaceuticals, Mpex Pharmaceuticals and Ruxton Pharmaceuticals. Ms. Misfeldt joined Aberdare from Bay City Capital, and earlier, she was an Associate in the Healthcare Group at Chase H&Q.
