Mexican American Political Association Endorses Kucinich for President, Candidate’s Wife Joins Leaders for News Conference in Los Angeles Today

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Elizabeth Kucinich, wife of Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, will appear with the top leaders of the Mexican American Political Association (MAPA) at a news conference today to accept the organization’s endorsement of the Ohio Congressman for President.

The news conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Calle Olvera at La Placita Stage, 800 N. Alameda St. (across street from Union Station). Leading the MAPA delegation will be National President Nativo Lopez.

MAPA (www.MAPA.org) was founded in 1963 to help protect Mexican American farm workers from human rights and work place abuses while simultaneously strengthening communities across California. Its members have worked alongside a number of political leaders, including John and Robert Kennedy, Cesar Chavez and Jerry Brown.

Later today, at about 5:30 p.m., Mrs. Kucinich will join members of Code Pink at their weekly anti-war vigil in Orange City at the Old Towne Traffic Circle (Chapman & Glassell). She is also scheduled to speak to the Orange County Democratic Club of West Orange County at an event that begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Fountain Valley Senior Center, 17967 Bushard St., Fountain Valley.

Elizabeth Kucinich has been campaigning throughout the state for the past several days while her husband tends to Congressional matters in Washington, D.C. and in his home district in Cleveland.
