Jane A. Freeman Promoted to Executive Vice President of Scientific Learning Corp.
OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Scientific Learning Corp. (NASDAQ: SCIL), makers of the Fast ForWord® educational software that accelerates learning by developing the student brain to process more efficiently, today announced that Senior Vice President and CFO Jane A. Freeman will be promoted to Executive Vice President.

Ms. Freeman joined Scientific Learning as Vice president, Finance and Treasurer in August 1999 and was named Chief Financial Officer in Jan. 2000. Prior to joining Scientific Learning, she spent 20 years in the investment industry. From 1988 through 1998 she was employed by Rockefeller & Co., a global investment firm, where she led the global asset allocation process, managed the U.S. Small Cap equity product and served on the firm’s Management Committee. Prior to that, she was employed by Scudder, Stevens and Clark. She is director of four mutual funds managed by Harding Loevner, LLP and chairs the Audit Committee.
In this new position, Ms. Freeman will continue to have responsibility for accounting, finance, information technology, business systems, and investor relations. In addition, she will assume responsibility for mergers and acquisitions along with leading the strategic and operational planning for the corporation. She will continue to report directly to Robert Bowen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Ms. Freeman holds a Bachelor's degree in mathematics and chemistry and an M.B.A. (with distinction) from Cornell University. She also holds a License in Applied Economics from the University of Louvain in Belgium.
