Former CBS News Chief Eric Ober to Head Video at Vault
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vault.com today announced the appointment of veteran television executive Eric Ober as senior vice president, television and video.
“Eric’s talent, experience and relationships will help Vault.com leverage this huge opportunity on our own site, through our distribution partnerships and with new associations online and in traditional media.”
In his new position, Ober will be responsible for producing original Vault programming for the Vault.com web site and for a variety of other distribution partners.
“Vault.com’s millions of young users and hundreds of recruitment advertising clients are looking for products and strategies to meet the exploding demand for video,” said Vault CEO Erik Sorenson. “Eric’s talent, experience and relationships will help Vault.com leverage this huge opportunity on our own site, through our distribution partnerships and with new associations online and in traditional media.”
Ober commented, “I’ve had a long relationship with Vault and am delighted to stay involved with the company as it expands onto the international stage. Running the digital video and television arm is a bit like being with YouTube or Facebook as they began their eras of enormous growth.”
Ober has been involved with Vault in various capacities since the company’s founding 10 years ago. Most recently as chairman of Vault’s board of directors, Ober was an integral part of the launch of Vault’s video department earlier this year.
Prior to joining Vault in this position, Ober ran an independent television production company, and also served as president of The Food Network. Before that, Ober served in various managerial and executive capacities at CBS, eventually becoming president of CBS Television Stations in 1987 and president of CBS News in 1990.
