InterDigital Signs RIM to Worldwide 3G Patent License
Amendment to Existing License Agreement Between the Companies
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC) today announced that, on October 8, 2007, its companies, InterDigital Technology Corporation (“ITC”), Tantivy Communications, Inc., and IPR Licensing, Inc. (collectively, “InterDigital”), entered into an Amendment of the existing Patent License Agreement between ITC and Research In Motion Limited (“RIM”). Under the terms of the Amendment, InterDigital and RIM have extended the term of the Patent License Agreement through December 31, 2012 and also expanded the scope of their non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-bearing Patent License Agreement to cover 3G products.
