U.S. Department of Energy Report Lists Imperial Petroleum Recovery Corporation as Company with Technology to Develop and Recover Valuable Shale Oil
DAYTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A small Texas company with a big technology patent has landed on an exclusive list of companies with technology for potential domestic oil development and recovery. In a published report by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Naval Petroleum and Oil Shale Reserves entitled “Secure Fuels from Domestic Resources. The Continuing Evolution of America’s Oil Shale and Tar Sands Industries,” Imperial Petroleum Recovery Corporation is profiled for its innovative technology to provide clean, secure fuels for the future.
“It was gratifying being named to this prestigious list of 27 companies. Literally the top oil companies in the world are pooling their resources and talents to develop enormous oil deposits in the Western USA,” said Alan Springer, IPRC Chairman and CEO.
IPRC utilizes a proprietary, patented process of high-energy microwaves called Microwave Separation Technology (MST) for efficiently breaking refinery, chemical plant and oil/gas production sludge. Industrial emulsions are stable, undesirable byproduct mixtures of oil, water and solids that occur in many industries. This sludge can cause a broad range of operating inefficiencies that limit production capacities, increase operating costs and result in the production of environmental wastes.
MST is best known for its ability to increase domestic oil production, thus lessening dependence on foreign sources, in an environmentally friendly way.
“MST technology can help improve the refining capacity of America’s refineries by being able to recover the oil from emulsions that are produced in virtually all refineries and production fields,” said Springer. “MST may be added to existing technology and can recover the oil without using pollution causing chemicals. It’s much better for the environment and gives us another tool to recover valuable oil that’s right here in the U.S.”
An MST unit has been sold to Esso for use at their production field in the Republic of Chad. The company is currently in discussions with other major foreign and domestic oil companies for potential demonstrations using MST technology for this valuable American resource.
IPRC’s goal is to become a leader in developing and marketing innovative commercial radio frequency energy applications for use within the petroleum and associated industries.
