SeeqPod Music Releases First iPhone-Enabled Music Search & Discovery Widget
Millions of Songs Now Accessible Over Any Network, Via Mobile Devices
EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SeeqPod, Inc. (www.seeqpod.com), a powerful search and discovery technology company which allows users to instantly play search results, today announced the release of a new iPhone widget, developed specifically to be interoperable with Apple’s Safari browser. The widget enables iPhone users to search for, discover and play music from the Internet. Users can now enjoy listening to and sharing music freely via SeeqPod Music on a variety of mobile devices, such as the LG CU500 or the Samsung Blackjack.
Originally developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) SeeqPod’s technology, based on a biomimetic approach, works by mimicking the way the human brain processes information and creates associations, and can be applied to most any vertical industry such as Music, Music Video, Sports, Celebrities, Health or Finance. Backed by angel investors, the current version of SeeqPod Music Search & Discovery beta launched in May of 2007, and has just launched its company blog, http://seeqpod.com/blog.
SeeqPod’s music widgets leapfrog storage limitations unique to most mobile devices while allowing users to access and share playlists on the spot within most any social network. Users can create playlists at SeeqPod.com, which then can be viewed, played and shared using any of the SeeqPod widgets on the iPhone, other mobile devices, or any computer.
SeeqPod is the home for playable search results. The SeeqPod (pronounced ‘seek-pod’) algorithim emulates the human brain, the best search and discovery engine on Earth. SeeqPod's vertically targeted crawlers crawl the deepest parts of the web to enable Internet-wide search and discovery of anything that can be linked to, and then played or shared with friends. SeeqPod understands that in the near future most search results will need to be played in one form or another.
SeeqPod Music is a music search, recommendation and discovery engine that vertically targets content using smart directed crawling systems. These results are ready for indexing, and can instantly be played. Born out of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), SeeqPod Inc. was founded by Kasian Franks, Raf Podowski and Shekhar Lodha in 2005 and is headquartered in Emeryville, California.
