The New York Times Company Names Yasmin Namini

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The New York Times Company announced today that Yasmin Namini, senior vice president, circulation has been promoted to senior vice president, marketing and circulation for the New York Times Media Group. Ms. Namini will now be responsible for marketing The Times’s brand across print, Web and mobile platforms as well as circulation and distribution of the print version of The Times, the electronic edition and TimesReader, a new subscription product that combines the format of the newspaper with the functionality of the Web. She will report to Scott Heekin-Canedy, president and general manager of The New York Times, and Vivian Schiller, senior vice president and general manager, NYTimes.com.

Ms. Namini, 47, was named senior vice president, circulation, for The New York Times newspaper in 2006. Previously, she was chief customer officer for the New England Media Group since 2005. Before that, she served as senior vice president of consumer marketing at the New England Newspaper Group and senior vice president of circulation at The Boston Globe since 2000. She also served as vice president of circulation marketing at The New York Times since 1999.
Ms. Namini joined The Times in 1984 in the circulation department and since then has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, planning and product development. She received a B.S. degree in psychology from the University of Maryland in 1981 and a master’s degree in applied statistics from Villanova University in 1989.
