Scott Kelby Named Top-Selling Computer Book Author in the US for 3rd Year in a Row
TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Peachpit Press and the Pearson Technology Group have announced that, for the third year in a row, Scott Kelby is the top-selling computer book author in the US based on research from Nielsen Bookscan data for the calendar year 2006. Kelby is widely recognized as the world’s best-selling Adobe® Photoshop® how-to book author, and is also editor-in-chief of Photoshop User and Layers magazines, a renowned digital imaging lecturer, and president of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.
In 2006, Kelby’s books dominated the computer technology field with the release of the The Digital Photography Book and The Photoshop Channels Book (both Amazon Editor’s Picks), a new edition of the best-selling The iPod Book, and The Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 Book for Digital Photographers. Scott also authored three eBooks covering the public test beta versions of Adobe Photoshop® Lightroom™. Many of Kelby’s 2005 releases, such as Photoshop CS2 Killer Tips and The Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers, continue to be strong sellers to this day.
According to Nancy Aldrich-Ruenzel, Kelby’s publisher at Peachpit Press and a vice president with Pearson Technology’s Creative Pro Group, "Since 2001, Scott (Kelby) has sold well over 1,000,000 units – an astounding accomplishment for any single author – but especially impressive in such a short amount of time. What’s even more impressive is the wild success of The Digital Photography Book; as we sold more than 140,000 copies worldwide in just eight months. In the category of digital photography books, this book is clearly the people’s choice!”
Scott has recently been featured in a full-page story about his extraordinary success as a technology author, as well as his truly unique business model as a technology writer and trainer, in the Money Section of USA Today.
