Kaskad Technology to Open Source its Korrelera™ Reg NMS Surveillance System
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kaskad Technology, an innovative technology provider, today announced that it is releasing the source code of its Korrelera Reg NMS surveillance system.
“Providing a commercially-proven event processing product to the open source community will help firms get a better sense of how this technology can be used, fostering growth of demand for complex event stream processing systems across the industry.”
Korrelera uses cutting edge technology combining event stream processing (ESP), and complex event processing (CEP) into a new class of event processing software called Complex Event Stream Processing (CESP) to provide best of breed solutions for exchanges, broker dealers, investment managers, and intermediaries. The system correlates data from many streams of information, and finds and processes events based on complex relationships between messages on various streams to provide users with instant information or triggers for other applications.
“Event processing technology provides a way to solve some of the most challenging problems facing the capital markets today,” said Colin Clark, chief technology officer of Kaskad. “Providing a commercially-proven event processing product to the open source community will help firms get a better sense of how this technology can be used, fostering growth of demand for complex event stream processing systems across the industry.”
"Making Korrelera for Reg NMS freely available via the Internet is great news for developers and the capital markets industry as a whole,” said Clark. “The system has gone through extensive QA at The Boston Stock Exchange and works with trading systems from Atos Euronext Market Solutions (www.aems.net).” Included in the release are all of the RuleBots, or logic, that is required for Exchange Surveillance to be Reg NMS compliant. “These RuleBots could easily be modified for MiFID in Europe, and Kaskad is looking forward to the open source community’s contribution." says Mr. Clark. The system will be released within the next month; those interested can contact Kaskad at firstname.lastname@example.org.
