Real Dice World — the First Cross-Platform Gaming Community for Smartphones — Features Multiplayer Casual Games and Social Networking for BlackBerry Devices
CARSON CITY, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leading the next-generation mobile multiplayer gaming revolution, Real Dice Inc. today announced the release of all Real Dice™ mobile multiplayer games and the Real Dice World™ social gaming community for RIM BlackBerry devices. Popular titles include Poker, Sudoku, Chess, Backgammon and Mahjong, alongside social networking features including chat, messaging, tournaments and rankings. BlackBerry users can stream Real Dice World and all Real Dice games directly to their handset by pointing the phone's web browser to http://wap.realdice.com.
“Real Dice World’s seamless cross-platform technology takes the guess work out of mobile gaming. It no longer matters which device you have, on which platform, or through which carrier service”
The Real Dice launch follows the successful release of RIM’s newest device, the BlackBerry Pearl. The Pearl is one in a wave of prosumer-targeted devices, such as the Motorola Q and Treo 680, which are designed to be a new breed of user-friendly, compact and affordable smart phones.
“Real Dice games highlight the high resolution screens and Internet capabilities of the newest smart phones on the market by providing a graphically rich and connected service through which gamers can interact over a casual Chess match, a heated Poker tournament or a stimulating Sudoku race, all from their mobile device,” stated Guy Ben-Artzi, director of game development at Real Dice Inc.
Real Dice released its games for the BlackBerry platform on the heels of its recently launched Real Dice World, the industry’s first cross-platform mobile gaming community. Real Dice World is now available to BlackBerry customers, who can challenge opponents using Palm OS, Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone devices around the world.
“Real Dice World’s seamless cross-platform technology takes the guess work out of mobile gaming. It no longer matters which device you have, on which platform, or through which carrier service,” added Ben-Artzi. “The programs provide the same rich user experience on all of the mobile industry’s most popular handsets.”
In addition to multiplayer games, Real Dice World incorporates social networking features and community content, such as buddy lists, shareable custom profiles, on and offline messaging, and a dynamic Hall of Fame, where players can check their standing relative to other gamers, participate in tournaments for prizes and schedule private gaming sessions. Subscribers to Real Dice World receive exclusive content and regular new game releases. A new title is scheduled for release later this month.
Among the games, Multiplayer Championship Poker has received the Best Poker Game of the Year award from Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine in both 2005 and 2006, and the Best Application for Play award from Handango in 2006. Sudoku Master is the best-selling BlackBerry version of the popular Japanese puzzle game on major distribution channels, and Real Dice World debuts its sequel, Sudoku Master II, an interactive multiplayer edition. All games feature live online multiplayer and robust single player modes.
