Los Angeles Department of Water & Power 11th Annual Holiday Light Festival at Griffith Park Hosts a Special Preview Night for Bicyclists

When: Monday, November 20, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where: A kick-off program will held at 6:30 p.m. at the L.A. Zoo parking lot, Thomas Brothers Map, Page 564, B4.
What: The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) in partnership with the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition will be sponsoring a preview special night for bicyclists to enjoy the 2006 Holiday Light Festival at Griffith Park.
Avid bicyclists will be able to ride their bikes through the one-mile display of dazzling lights in a special lane. A separate family lane will be made available to families who would like to bring their children to ride along the route. The family lane will be open to bicycles, tricycles, non-electric scooters and parents accompanying their children.
No cars or vehicles will be on the route during the special Bike Night.
Walkers may walk along the traditional bridle path.
Attendees will be able to enjoy tasteful coffees from Peet’s Coffee and KOST 102.3 FM will be on hand to add to the festive evening.
NOTE: Festival opens to the public November 22, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. through December 30, 2006.
Why: The LADWP’s Holiday Light Festival draws more than 500,000 visitors each and every year. It is an activity that is free and can be enjoyed by young and old alike.
