K2 Launches Much Anticipated In-Town Community
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--K2 Urbancorp, LLC announced today the official launch of Evening Rose, its newest $100MM Traditional Neighborhood Development project located in the heart of urban Tallahassee. The phase one release includes a limited selection of residential lots and a variety of homes including Bungalows, Cottages, Colonial Revival Style, Mediterranean, Modern Dwell, as well as fully-customized estate homes.
The Honorable Mayor John Marks along with City Commissioners were on hand to help celebrate this exciting new community and participate in the ceremonial planting of the first Evening Rose.
Evening Rose features 99 homes sites as well as a walkable, pedestrian friendly mixed use village center adjacent to a variety of office, restaurant and retail establishments. Evening Rose is located in one of Tallahassee's award winning school districts including Leon High, Cobb Middle and Kate Sullivan Elementary Schools.
“K2 has proven to be a very innovative developer and partner and we are excited to see the Evening Rose project get underway. We know the public can expect a beautiful neighborhood to be developed here, a place our children and our grandchildren will be proud to call home for generations to come,” said Mayor John Marks.
David Wamsley, K2’s CEO and Managing Member added, “Traditional Neighborhood Developments, by their very nature, promote the creation and restoration of diverse, walkable, compact, vibrant, mixed-use communities. Evening Rose will use the same components as conventional developments, but we will assemble it in a more integrated fashion, making this neighborhood stand out from any you have seen in Tallahassee.” Interested parties should contact Frog Realty, the official sales agent for Evening Rose, at 850-222-FROG(3764) or visit www.k2urbancorp.com for more information.
K2 Urbancorp and Evening Rose announced earlier this year that it would be the first Developer to voluntarily comply with the City’s inclusionary zoning ordinance. As part of its Workforce Housing solution, K2 was asked by the City of Tallahassee to voluntarily set aside 10% of the housing in this development for income eligible buyers. Developers who partner with the City on this issue are promised priority service on certain developmental issues, such as expedited permitting processes, lessening of concurrency fee burdens and flexibility in density and green space requirements, thus making the project economically viable for the developer.
