JumpTap Partners with Autodesk, SuperPages.com, and WhitePages.com to Offer Location-Based Mobile Search
Local Search Capabilities Maximize the Search and Advertising Revenue Model for Mobile Operators, Improve Search Experience for Mobile Subscribers
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JumpTap, Inc., a pioneer in the development of innovative, mobile search and advertising solutions, today announced that it has formed strategic partnerships with Autodesk, Inc., SuperPages.com, and WhitePages.com, Inc. Through these partnerships, JumpTap is expanding its current mobile search and advertising offerings by providing mobile operators with enhanced, local search capabilities for their subscribers.
“These partnerships with Autodesk, SuperPages.com and WhitePages.com demonstrate our company’s ongoing commitment to provide operators with the most advanced mobile search functionality for a wide variety of searches”
JumpTap will offer mobile operators Autodesk’s LocationLogic geoservices platform to deliver maps and directions as a standalone experience or integrated with JumpTap’s local search results. Users will now benefit from the ability to view search results as locations on a map accompanied with driving directions on their mobile phones.
By integrating results from SuperPages.com, JumpTap’s mobile search now allows users to look for specific category or business names, based on a user- defined ZIP code, city or address. Previously searched locations are made accessible without requiring the user to re-enter information, and call completion will be offered to users once they have found the business they are looking for. Paid search listings for local businesses also will be displayed alongside the main search results.
In addition, JumpTap is integrating white page listings from WhitePages.com, allowing users to search for people by last name, with or without the person’s first name. These searches can also be combined with the person’s ZIP code and/or city. Once information is found, users can save this information in their address book. Like JumpTap’s yellow page search capabilities, call completion will also be offered.
“These partnerships with Autodesk, SuperPages.com and WhitePages.com demonstrate our company’s ongoing commitment to provide operators with the most advanced mobile search functionality for a wide variety of searches,” said Adam Soroca, Vice President and General Manager of Search Services for JumpTap. “With the integration of these new applications, JumpTap is improving the mobile search experience, which drives more usage and makes the operators’ network more valuable for their customers and potential advertisers.”
A study recently conducted by comScore Networks (http://www.comscore.com) found that local search is experiencing tremendous growth as more consumers adapt to the ‘always on’ environment and want to find relevant information on businesses or services, whenever and wherever they may be. The study also revealed that approximately 849 million local searches were conducted by Americans in July, creating a sizable market for local advertisers as consumers were driven to take action on their local search results.
“JumpTap has made great progress since its launch last year,” comments Jill Aldort, Senior Wireless/Mobile Analyst, Yankee Group. “In addition to providing the mobile market with a comprehensive mobile search solution, JumpTap has introduced a full suite of related services including its new Advertising Suite and a Mobile Search Index. By integrating local search functionality, JumpTap is further positioning itself as a strong partner for mobile search.”
Since its founding in 2004, JumpTap has rapidly established itself as a leader in the burgeoning mobile search and advertising market. JumpTap’s new local search features complement the company’s recently announced Advertising Suite and Mobile Search Index; and provide mobile operators with the industry’s most complete mobile search ecosystem. Carriers throughout North American are recognizing the clear benefits of JumpTap’s white-label, mobile search and advertising solutions as they roll-out these services to their subscriber base.
