Frost National Bank’s Paul Olivier to Chair
PULSE® Financial Institution Oversight Committee
Capital One’s Ron E. Samford and Trustmark-Texas’ James M. Outlaw Join Prominent Panel
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thirty-year banking veteran Paul Olivier has been elected chairman of PULSE EFT Association LP’s Financial Institution Oversight Committee, comprised of prominent financial industry executives. He succeeds Jerry Host, president–general banking, Trustmark National Bank, as chairman of the Oversight Committee.
“The committee will continue to serve as a strong voice for all PULSE financial institution participants, providing guidance on key issues facing the industry.”
The Oversight Committee was created following PULSE’s acquisition by Discover Financial Services LLC in January 2005, and advises the organization on key issues relative to the operations of PULSE, one of the nation’s leading ATM/debit networks currently serving more than 4,200 banks, credit unions and savings institutions across the country.
Olivier joined Frost Bank, a founding PULSE member, in 1977 and currently serves as group executive vice president responsible for consumer banking, marketing, international and student loans. He has been a member of the Oversight Committee since its inception and served on the PULSE Board of Directors from 2002 until the network’s acquisition by Discover.
“I am proud to lead a committee that helps guide a long-established leader in the electronic payments industry with a rich legacy of innovation and customer service,” Olivier said. “The committee will continue to serve as a strong voice for all PULSE financial institution participants, providing guidance on key issues facing the industry.”
In addition to Olivier’s appointment, the Oversight Committee elected two new members:
- Ron E. Samford, Jr., senior executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Capital One, N.A., succeeds Walter P. Walker, executive vice president, Hibernia National Bank, on the committee.
- James M. Outlaw, Jr., president and chief operating officer, Trustmark-Texas, replaces Host on the committee.
