Insight to Launch Next-Generation Digital Cable Service in All Markets
New InsightDigital 2.0 will offer access to over 200 channels; enhanced On Demand TV with over 2,000 free programs; and simple, theme-based channel lineup
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Insight Communications today announced the launch of InsightDigital 2.0, the “next generation” of its digital cable service, in Louisville and Covington, Ky.; Columbus, Ohio; and Rockford and Macomb, Ill. The service will launch in remaining Insight markets by early November. Insight previously tested InsightDigital 2.0 earlier this month in Evansville, Ind.
“It’s our job to make watching TV not just enjoyable but simple for our customers,” said Gregg Graff, senior vice president, field operations. “Since we offer access to over 200 channels, finding what you want to watch can sometimes prove challenging. So we’re introducing a theme-based lineup that organizes digital channels into categories – movies with movies, sports with sports, kids with kids, etc. And, we want to make our service convenient, so we’ve added tons of new movies and shows to On Demand TV.”
InsightDigital 2.0 Highlights
- Access to over 200 channels. InsightDigital 2.0 features more than 200 channels, including new digital networks like HRTV, Insight is also adding three high definition (HD) channels: ESPN2 HD, TNT in HD and MHD (MTV’s HD channel).
- Increased On Demand TV programming. With InsightDigital 2.0, more than 3,000 movies and shows will be available, an addition of 1,700 titles. Over 2,000 of these programs are free to InsightDigital 2.0 customers. On Demand TV now includes new programming, kids’ content and Spanish-language offerings from networks like A&E, Danger Rangers, CNET, G4, Discovery, IFC, The Anime Network, Octane, Oxygen and TNT.
- A simple channel lineup organized by themes like Sports, Movies, Family and more. The analog channel lineup positions will not be changing, but most of these channels will appear again in the digital lineup in their appropriate themed category.
