Former SEC Commissioner Isaac C. Hunt, Jr. To Speak at Global Crown Capital’s Nanotechnology Investment Conference
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global Crown Capital, LLC (“GCC”), a full-service boutique investment firm will host an invitation-only Nanotechnology Investment Conference and Road Show for Institutional Investors on October 30 and 31, 2006. At this first of its kind conference, institutional investors will attain a crash course in nanotechnology as an investment opportunity, meet with the CEOs and CFOs of leading public and private companies involved in the development and use of nanotechnology and acquire proprietary investment ideas. The conference will be held at the Olympic Club’s Historic Lakeside Clubhouse in San Francisco, California.
“I am pleased to join Global Crown Capital’s Nanotechnology Investment Conference and to be a part of an exciting new technology and industry.”
Rani Jarkas, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Global Crown Capital said, “We are pleased to have such an esteemed group of executives participate in our first annual nanotechnology investment conference. This conference is another reflection of our commitment to injecting ‘true’ nanotechnology expertise and professional investment advice into the investment community.” Some of the participating companies include: Intel, Applied Materials, BASF, Harris & Harris Group, Arrowhead Research, Nanophase Technologies, Altair Nanotechnologies, Accelrys, Veeco Instruments, NVE, Broadcom, Texas Instruments, Marvell Technology Group, Micrel, Agilent Technologies, Nanosys and Nanomix.
This conference will address nanotechnology as an investment opportunity, not as an academic or political study. “While there is confusion about nanotech in the investment community, the enthusiastic response we have received from leading pension, mutual and hedge funds confirms that there is significant interest in nanotech and a need for credible investment advice,” added Mr. Jarkas.
During lunch former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissioner and friend of the firm, Isaac C. Hunt, Jr., will discuss some of the most important issues facing institutional investors and companies alike, including Sarbanes-Oxley and the SEC’s current enforcement environment. Mr. Hunt was nominated by President Bill Clinton and served from 1996 to 2002. He is probably best known for being one of three commissioners responsible for maintaining the integrity of the US capital markets after Sept 11th, 2001. Mr. Hunt said, “I am pleased to join Global Crown Capital’s Nanotechnology Investment Conference and to be a part of an exciting new technology and industry.”
