NovaCentrix Announces the Availability of Revolutionary Photonic Curing Systems
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NovaCentrix, a leading nanotechnology products company with a focus on printable electronics, life sciences and energetics announced today the availability of a novel rapid curing technique called Photonic Curing. Photonic Curing Systems instantly cure metal nanoparticle-based inks by exposing them to a brief, intense pulse of light from a xenon flash lamp. The system rapidly and selectively heats and fuses nanoscale metallic ink particles forming highly conductive traces without heating the base substrate material.
“Photonic curing technology is positioned to revolutionize the speed at which printed electronic materials are processed”
NovaCentrix has delivered a pilot-scale system designed to cure MetalonTM branded inks on films with speeds up to 50 feet per minute. NovaCentrix will continue developing high-speed commercial systems for integration with ink-jet, flexographic and gravure printing systems. Additionally, the company has received orders for its PCS 1100 R&D system, which is offered to commercial customers and research institutions for fundamental electronic material research.
“Photonic curing technology is positioned to revolutionize the speed at which printed electronic materials are processed,” said Steve Leach, CEO of NovaCentrix. “The ability to cure conductive inks instantly, without heating the substrate or surrounding sensitive materials is of tremendous value to our printable electronics customers. Photonic curing in combination with printable conductive inks greatly expands the menu of low cost and flexible substrates from which to choose.”
Continued Leach, “We are also offering Photonic Curing Services to companies or researchers interested in determining the impact and benefits of photonic curing with various nanometal-based inks and substrates. As a fundamental breakthrough for printable electronics, offering these products and services allows our customers leverage the capabilities of photonic curing for applications such as RFID, displays, and photovoltaics.”
NovaCentrix, a nanotechnology products company, creates and commercializes unique solutions with focus on three business segments: printable electronics, life sciences and energetics.
