InterCall Brings Free Push-to-Conference Feature to Wireless Customers
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Conferencing just got easier for employees who spend much of their time away from the office. InterCall is now making it possible for wireless users to join conference calls with the single-click of a button. Chicago-based InterCall is launching its push-to-talk conferencing feature called Mobile Assistant, which is free and available for InterCall customers using a Blackberry® or Windows Mobile® phone.
“Before using Mobile Assistant my meetings rarely started on time because there were too many conference numbers to track down”
“As the workforce becomes increasingly mobile there’s a greater need for reliable conferencing services that are easier to use when we’re working away from the office,” said Robert Wise, vice president of marketing and strategic development for InterCall.
Mobile Assistant stores up to 64 unique sets of conference numbers and passcodes and connects users instantly to the call as either the leader or a participant. Traditional conferencing features such as mute, dial-out and call recording are also available.
“With Mobile Assistant you store the dial-in numbers and passcodes like you would on your speed-dial, so you always know you’ve got the correct conference number,” Wise added.
“Before using Mobile Assistant my meetings rarely started on time because there were too many conference numbers to track down,” said Jessica Nemmers associate development manager at Dallas-based Perot Systems. “Now there is no delay because I can get on my call at the same time – it just takes one-click.”
The one-touch access to an audio conference is an added safety measure for participants who need to dial in to a meeting while driving. A hands-free adaptor for a wireless phone should also be used while behind the wheel.
Mobile Assistant is a free feature and can be downloaded from InterCall’s Web site at http://mobile.intercall.com/. A new push-to-conference feature will be added to Mobile Assistant in 2007 that dials out to the meeting participants, making it easier to connect participants quickly on a moment’s notice.
