Wilmington-Based Serveon Debuts SABI™ Agricultural Data Collection System
Mobile GPS and Agronomic Data Collection Tools Take Observations, Reporting to Next Level
WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Serveon Inc., a leading maker of application development products and provider of information technology services for the agricultural industry, has introduced the Serveon Advanced Business Intelligence (SABI™) data collection system.
“These two innovative products truly are 100 percent customizable, regardless of crop or geography or size of grower”
The two technology products, SABI™ Mobile and the SABI™ Field Trial System (SABI FTS), powered by Serveon, provide the industry’s strongest scouting tools for data collection, management and reporting. Both are immediately available and are sold on a subscription basis.
SABI Mobile is a GPS wireless handheld unit, using a Pharos 525E, that sells for $1,200 per annual subscription. With the purchase of a two-year subscription, Serveon donates the hardware unit. SABI Mobile is an advanced tool designed specifically to give growers, regulators and researchers the opportunity to rapidly collect, observe, measure and map customizable field data.
SABI FTS is the offline data collection system that is 100 percent tailored to a subscriber’s needs. For example, it can be used in contract research, field efficacy or plant variety trials. The system can be developed to fit the needs of a small grower or can be designed for the industry’s largest manufacturers, university researchers and regulators.
The SABI tools can be purchased together or separately and all data imported by subscribers is stored on Serveon’s secure server network, with access to only that client’s subscribers. “These two innovative products truly are 100 percent customizable, regardless of crop or geography or size of grower,” said Daniel Hart, CEO of Serveon Inc., which developed the SABI products.

The SABI Mobile System is currently used to power the “Ag Certification Network” for the United States Department of Agriculture. With funding from their Technical Assistance for Specialty Crops (TASC) program, this system tracks the prevalence of critical pests such as fruit flies, canker and greening on citrus in Florida. The technology was developed in partnership with Ecostat, Inc. and is sponsored by the Indian River Citrus League. The Florida Department of Agriculture and the University of Florida provide field support.
Product Details – SABI Mobile GPS
SABI Mobile is an easy-to-use, easy-to-configure GPS wireless unit that puts the power of reporting in the hands of growers and stakeholders, who can then review, analyze, measure and map the data through use of GPS mapping, which utilizes ESRI’s ARC IMS online Server.
Subscribers with the handheld unit can easily import their scouting data directly to the customized drop down fields of their choosing – and in addition to pest scouting, data can be recorded for abiotic factors, harvest information, regulatory compliance, harvest traceability, packinghouse packout, irrigation, organic scheduling and more.
SABI Mobile needs no desktop software, can work wirelessly or with a Bluetooth®, and is the only agricultural tool that combines Pharos’ in-car or in-field GPS capabilities with Microsoft Windows Mobile™ 5 applications like Pocket Outlook, Windows Media® Player and Internet Explorer.
