Alexis Glick Joins FOX News Channel
In making the announcement, Cavuto said, "Alexis has the rare combination of Wall Street credibility and television expertise. She's an excellent addition to a business team that's already second to none."
Glick said, "I'm thrilled to return to my management roots, especially in an extraordinary operation like FOX News where Neil and his team have effectively defined a remarkable new era for business news."
FOX News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes, added, "Neil made a great decision in tapping Alexis for this role. After creating the top five business programs in cable news, I expect he and Alexis will work together to create an even stronger business unit and prepare for the launch of a possible business channel. While we are not announcing the launch of such a channel, hiring Alexis enables us to be prepared if plans move forward."
In the event FNC secures the distribution necessary to launch a business channel, Glick would also serve in an on-air capacity. Before joining FNC, Glick was a correspondent on the "Today Show" and co-anchored the third hour of the program. Prior to her stint there, she was a senior trading correspondent for CNBC and reported from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for the network's morning show, "Squawk Box."
Before pursuing a career in television, Glick was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley where she headed the New York Stock Exchange Floor Operations. A member of the New York Stock Exchange since 2002, she was the first and youngest woman to manage such an operation for a bulge bracket firm, and served as one of its top producers on the Listed Equity Trading Desk. A graduate of Columbia University, Glick is a member of the Board of Directors of the College Alumni Association.
Under the leadership of Cavuto, FNC's business news unit overtook CNN and CNBC to claim the top five shows in cable news, which include the popular Saturday morning business block. Cavuto's signature program "Your World" has been number one for 71 consecutive months.
FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour general news service covering breaking news as well as political, business and entertainment news.
