ReacTV Secures Carriage Agreement with Bright House Networks; Bright House Networks to Carry Reactive Network to Digital Customers in 12th Largest Media Market
ReacTV's new and original TV programming will be available to Bright House Networks Digital Cable Customers on channel 77. There, viewers will be able to watch, play and compete for potentially millions of dollars in prizes by reacting to real-time trivia, word game content and to patented CRAV advertisements that reward them for responding to ads from their computer, and soon from their remote control. When viewers see the CRAV icon on their TV screen, they know they can play to win.
“We're absolutely delighted that ReacTV's hometown market, Tampa Bay, will be the first in America to receive the televised version of our TV InterNetwork”
For advertisers, ReacTV and the CRAV advertising model offer the reach and frequency of television, and the metrics and tracking capabilities of the Internet. Viewers are rewarded for paying attention to ads, and advertisers are charged only for the number of people that actually watch the commercials. Further, the reactive component of the CRAV model allows advertisers to ask responders questions about products and services, offer product samples or coupons, and test campaign effectiveness. "ReacTV brings advertising to the next level by providing businesses the highest level of interactivity and measurable results," says ReacTV president Noreen Parker.
"Bright House Networks is a leader in interactive television," says Bright House Networks Tampa Bay Division President Kevin Hyman. "We were the first to launch Interactive Entertainment, with programs like Interactive Polling on Bay News 9 and Last Comic Standing. Now we are the first to offer our customers this exciting and fun new technology that they can't get from any other cable provider."
Says Parker, "Bright House Networks is on the cutting edge of technology with loads of service options for customers including High Speed Internet and Digital Phone, as well as Interactive TV on Digital Cable. We are in good company in our joint effort to bring this new television technology to our area. We're looking forward to seeing ReacTV77 on Bright House Networks channel 77 when we launch August 1."
Like Bright House Networks, ReacTV is a local business and for chairman and CEO Frank Maggio, that makes the partnership between the two companies even better. "We're absolutely delighted that ReacTV's hometown market, Tampa Bay, will be the first in America to receive the televised version of our TV InterNetwork," he says. "Bright House Networks continues to display its national leadership and commitment to provide customers with the most innovative products and services available. Through channel 77 and our 77.tv web portal, we're now poised to reach approximately 50% of U.S. households with TV or Internet service on Day One. Establishing this relationship with Bright House Networks is a defining moment for ReacTV."
Bright House Networks customers will be able to go to the company website to find out more about ReacTV and to learn how to become registered users of the Internetwork starting at 7 pm on July 17. The actual launch of the service will be August 1.
