NanoDynamics Wins Second Consecutive TIS Award at SEMICON(R) West; Technology Innovation Showcase Award For NanoDynamics' NanoEncapsulation Process
One of the initial applications that NanoDynamics is addressing through the ALD technology is its ability to extend the capabilities of boron nitride. Although boron nitride is a fine thermal conductor, its surface reactivity reduces the material's effective loading and overall thermal conductivity. Via the ALD technology, a boron nitride particle is encapsulated uniformly with an ultra-thin, protective layer of aluminum oxide, resulting in an interface that behaves chemically like alumina, while retaining boron nitride's inherent thermal performance. By enabling particles that maintain their bulk properties while achieving uniquely desirable surface properties, NanoDynamics is developing a new set of tools for process and design engineers.
