Konarka Expands Worldwide Presence with Senior Management in Asia

Born in China, Dr. Gui comes to Konarka from the Corporate R&D Center at General Electric Company where he served 15 years in various roles, including heading the organic photovoltaic R&D program, with a focus on business development throughout Asia with an emphasis on China. From 2000-2004, Dr. Gui founded and operated the Wuhan, China-based Wangqiao Company, the first to receive a federal e-commerce technology grant in the region. He also served as acting director for Open Laboratory of Electronanalytical Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in China. Dr. Gui holds a PhD in Electrochemistry from Ohio State University as well as 23 technology patents.
Dr. Wang joins Konarka from Kenly Precision Industrial Co Ltd, one of the largest metal stamping and tooling companies in Taiwan, where he led a 74-member team of the Optoelectronics Business Unit. He also served the company as marketing director responsible for identifying business opportunities in the LED components and display industry. From 1997-2004, Dr. Wang served DuPont Asia Pacific as marketing development manager, Engineering Polymers and served DuPont Taiwan as marketing & technical service specialist, Engineering Polymers for the year prior, having been involved with active and functionalized polymers. Dr. Wang holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Missouri-Rolla, Rolla, MO.
