Centennial Software Security Survey Reveals Companies Slow to React to Portable Device Threat

Designed to evaluate the state of portable storage device security within the corporate network, the survey showed that 91 percent of businesses polled believe portable storage devices (iPods, USB memory sticks, etc.) continue to pose a large security risk to corporate and network integrity. Intriguingly, the results also revealed that only one third of companies polled have taken steps to address this problem: 66 percent of businesses have yet to implement a solution to prevent the unauthorized use of portable storage devices on the corporate network.
