MobileLime's Mobile Wallet Receives CTIA Wireless 2006 E-Tech Award for Innovation in Consumer Messaging
The Wireless E-tech Awards program is designed to give industry recognition and exposure to the best wireless products and services in the areas of Consumer, Enterprise and Network technology. Nearly 200 applications were submitted and reviewed by a panel of recognized members of the media, industry analysts and executives, as well as select show attendees. Products were judged on innovation, functionality, technological importance, implementation and overall "wow" factor.
“We are extremely proud of the e-Tech awards program and continually amazed at the level of ingenuity present in the submissions”
"We are extremely proud of the e-Tech awards program and continually amazed at the level of ingenuity present in the submissions," said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director for CTIA WIRELESS. "On behalf of CTIA, we congratulate MobileLime on this accomplishment and look forward to their continued innovation in the field of Mobile Messaging (SMS/MMS)."
With the Mobile Wallet from MobileLime, consumers can pay, get rewards, and redeem coupons conveniently and securely all with their mobile phone. The second generation platform leverages Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to add speed, convenience and interactivity to the company's award-winning mobile marketing, loyalty and payment applications. Users with an NFC compatible phone just click the lime graphic from the menu screen, choose the credit card they want to use and wave their phone over the contactless reader that's integrated with the point of sale system at checkout.
"Winning the highly coveted CTIA Wireless Emerging Technologies Award is further validation that our Mobile Wallet will redefine the way people shop by tightening the relationship that merchants, carriers and credit card companies have with their customers," said Robert Wesley, president and CEO of MobileLime. "In addition to faster and more secure payments, MobileLime is a complete mobile wallet that lets you leave your traditional one at home. We look forward to the day when users will simply be able to wave their phone over the contactless reader at their preferred stores and restaurants and check out with the greatest of ease."
NFC is a standards-based short-range wireless connectivity technology that is installed at more than 27,000 merchant locations nationwide and growing.
