Unlike most truckload carriers, Schneider offers a company-provided training program, customized career options to meet driver lifestyle and time-at-home needs, and a competitive salary. Compensation is based on experience, with newly hired inexperienced drivers earning an average of $34,500-$42,500 in their first year. Experienced drivers will earn an average of $48,500-$57,500 per year. In addition, experienced drivers may qualify for up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Owner-operators leasing with Schneider National will average $105,000-$115,000 annually.
"Year after year we strive to create a work experience that will help drivers thrive both on the job and at home," said Rob Reich, vice president of enterprise recruiting at Schneider National. "Our continuous work to provide better career options for drivers is just one of the reasons Schneider has one of the best retention rates within the industry."
Driving opportunities are more varied than most people realize, and in the Savannah area include weekly and bi-weekly runs in these divisions:
-- One-Way is the company's over-the-road, full truckload service. Drivers for this division will deliver clients' products throughout the United States.
-- Dedicated drivers service mainly one client and have predictable work schedules, consistent time at home and regular routes.
-- Schneider Bulk drivers haul liquid specialty chemicals using safe, customized equipment with temperature controls and other options.
In 2005, Schneider announced the largest compensation and work-life improvement package in its 70-year history. In addition, Schneider enjoyed its safest year on record and invested significantly in its equipment to deliver the newest fleet in company history.
Schneider National is an equal opportunity employer.
