Lumera is developing high-performance modulators which enable a new generation of fiber optic systems that are expected to deliver increased bandwidth at competitive costs and use lower power than current devices. Optical modulators are applicable to a broad range of markets, including communications and computing. Estimates have forecast the size of these markets at greater than $2 billion in 2007.
Lumera is an emerging leader in the field of nanotechnology.
