NetClarity Upgrades Line of Vulnerability Management Appliances; Auditor Now Provides Multi-Appliance Correlation and VoIP Security Testing
Auditor's Command Center now enables customers to manage all of their Auditor appliances, including those at remote sites, from a central console. This streamlines the vulnerability audit, workflow and remediation processes, saving customers a significant amount of time and money. In addition, Auditor now has the capability of scanning VoIP network equipment, such as servers, switches, routers and handsets, for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), the systemic cause of over 95 percent of all network security breaches.
“Because these packet-based networks are not very secure by default they are extremely susceptible to attacks such as Man in the Middle (eavesdropping and alerting) and Denial of Service (DoS). Auditor now enables customers to quickly find and remediate CVEs that may lead to these types of attacks.”
"If you are considering deploying VoIP on the same network as your desktop computers and servers, you are at high risk of poor call quality, denial of service, breaches of privacy, integrity and availability. By removing your CVEs, you can quickly mitigate much of this risk," said Gary Miliefsky, chief technology officer for NetClarity. "Because these packet-based networks are not very secure by default they are extremely susceptible to attacks such as Man in the Middle (eavesdropping and alerting) and Denial of Service (DoS). Auditor now enables customers to quickly find and remediate CVEs that may lead to these types of attacks."
Additional New Features of Auditor
-- Asset Alerting and Latency Tests: customers can quickly determine which assets are responding poorly and may be in need of service or tuning.
-- Backup and Restore: customers can archive databases, logs, reports and audit configurations to ensure data availability. This is critical for compliance with SOX and other regulations.
-- Customized Reports: customers can brand their own reports with a few mouse clicks including company logo with compliance gap analysis for SOX-404, GLBA, E-Sign, Bank Secrecy, HIPAA, Pharma (CFR-21-FDA-11), ISO17799 and the VISA PCI program.
-- Endpoint Defender: customers can now shut off and restart any Windows firewall during an audit. This provides deeper control in the gathering of any Windows machine. Other features of the Endpoint Defender include automated patch management integration with Microsoft WSUS, built-in antivirus scanning and automated desktop hardening.
-- Enhanced Workflow: customers can now view open and closed jobs of their IT staff and track their progress at remediation and network hardening.
-- Improved Audit Wizard and One-click Audit: first audit can be done in seconds, schedule audits can be ready in a few minutes.
-- Integration with the National Vulnerability Database, which is based on and synchronized with the MITRE CVE naming standard: this comprehensive cyber security vulnerability database enables customers to better understand how vulnerabilities impact their business and how to fix them as well as the latest threats against their CVEs.
-- Internationalization: customers can add international phone numbers and postal codes as well as alerting throughout the world.
-- Improved Network Admission Control (NAC): customers can more easily track and manage trusted and untrusted assets through the Vulnerability Quarantine System (VQS).
